Steal Her Style; Dita Von Teese

She always wears very deliberate, very sexy makeup. You won't see Ms. Von Teese out with a natural eye and a glossy lip.

She is an effortless Snow White, hair of ebony and skin of snow as if the sun has never touched it. Perfect Pin-up Girl.She rarely changes up her look, and for others I might Tsk Tsk- but she is timeless. And as a spokesperson for MAC she definitely knows her makeup.

"I always noticed the make-up, which was very obvious make-up. I loved the blue eye shadows and pretty peach blushes. I had an Aunt Opal and she wore blue eye shadow, red lips, false eyelashes and I just thought she was so colourful and so amazing." Ms. Von Teese said

As you would have noticed she will always, always, always be seen with a red lip. Apparently this has been ever since high school when she found Burlesque and Bettie Page.

"That's when I felt totally changed, and glamorous. I can't imagine why anyone would ever want to wear any other colour."

It is generally a Matte Lip- she and I have something in common! I also believe a Matte lip is sexy without being over-done. This makes it much easier to wear outrageous colours! My fave Red and one for you to try MAC's Chilli- great all round brown-red perfect for all skin tones!

Apart from that tantalising blood stained pout, Dita loves Bat winged liquid eyeliner. Add a sweep of white or pastel eye shadow, practically perfect in every way!

Check out some of these tips to get you on the way

1. Invest in some good gel eyeliner- Napoleon Perdis China Doll Equinox. This product or the MAC equivalent should be in every one of your makeup kits!

2. Get yourself an angle brush. You will find painting eyeliner much easier than using those 'Marker' like liquid liners.

3. Start your Eyeliner super close to the lash line, going from corner to corner (ALWAYS!) and build slowly. Now don’t get all Amy Winehouse on me, but less isn’t necessarily more in this case.

4. For that Red lip that lasts (without using that harsh long-lasting lipstick), prime you lips Napoleon Perdis Autopilot Lip Primer or a basic nourshing lip balm.

5. LINE THAT LIP! Very important, line your lips entirely. This will prevent the Lipstick from bleeding, and fading quickly. Then blot (or dab) with a tissue.

6. Paint that pout. Remember, take your time and get your lines perfect. There is nothing worse than a messy red lip- SKANK ALERT!

7. Place a tissue over your lips and powder over the tissue with a soft brush. This will help to seal the lipstick.

Tip: And don’t forget ladies, with a strong look like this that bold eyebrows are a must to look polished.
